A WORD FROM WILLIE

 “PRAY, CHURCH, PRAY”

Greetings to all of you in the blessed Name of Jesus!  Here we are again in the presence of the Lord, eagerly anticipating the movement of His mighty hand.  It is only a week away from our new Sunday Morning Schedule change.  For those of you who do not know, the new schedule will be as follows:

                  8:45 A.M.  “Contemporary Worship Service”
10:00 A.M.  “Sunday School” (Our Small Group Bible Study)
                11:00 A.M.  “Traditional Worship Service”

I am so excited about both of our services!  I am excited about the potential of reaching both young and aged alike by giving them the music and worship style that meets them where they are, at this point in their lives.  These new worship services are designed to prepare each person to be ready to hear the Word of the Lord.

You have heard me talk about the 8:45 Contemporary Service, and now I want to tell you about the 11:00 Traditional Worship Service. Our traditional worship service is designed using music and sounds of the past and present for people with a more traditional background with the same purpose of using the music to lead people to a more intimate walk with the Lord. We will sing a blend of hymns and choruses. The instruments used are piano and organ, and on occasion other musical instruments. This service is led by a worship leader along with a choir and praise team.

In both of our new services, the Word of God will be preached in its fullness and power and relevant for daily living.  This is going to be a great time in the history of Immanuel Baptist Church!  This will be the beginning of a wonderful new era in the life of Immanuel!  I have only two requests of you:

Pray, Pray, and Pray some more! .  Pray for Gerald Frederick as he leads the Adult Choir and congregational music at the Traditional Service.  Pray for David Rogers as he leads the Praise Team, the Praise Band, and the praise choruses at the Contemporary Service.  Pray for me as I bring the messages God directs me to bring.  Pray for the Sunday School classes and their teachers that they will reach out.

Invite, Invite, and Invite some more! Invite your family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, new acquaintances, and everyone God puts in your path.  You may be the very person that can influence them to come for worship and a time of commitment to Him.  Let’s all be excited about what great plans God has for Immanuel.

                                        In Christ Jesus Forever,
                                        Pastor Willie
