Immanuel’s Goal:
(Offering envelope included in this ImmanueLight.)

“Pray, Pray, and then…Pray some more!”
Greetings in the Name of Jesus! Here we are again, and yet it seems like it’s all brand new.  We have the historic Immanuel with such a wonderful and rich heritage, and we also have a new Immanuel with a bright new hope and a bright new future. As many of you know, beginning Easter Sunday morning at 8:45, we will begin a new ministry.  This will be the beginning of our Contemporary Worship Ministry. The vision and purpose of this new ministry is to reach as many people (souls) that need to be reached for Jesus Christ and the future of Immanuel Baptist Church.  This new worship service is designed to meet the needs of those who like a more contemporary worship style. There are some things that I would like for you to do as we prepare ourselves for this new worship service:

Pray! Please Pray, Pray, and then…Pray some more! As God has opened this door for us to venture through, the enemy will do whatever he can to “kill, steal, and destroy”. Pray that people will be able to resist the devil when they are tempted by the devil to tear down and destroy what God is doing here at Immanuel. 1 Peter 5:8 tells us “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” We need to be vigilant because we are taking steps that have been ordained by God. There will be souls that will be saved because of this new ministry. There will be lives transformed because of this new ministry. There will be some of your children and grandchildren that will begin attending church because of this new ministry. This church will grow because of this new ministry.  With all of these wonderful things happening, the devil will take quite a beating.  He is not going to like it, so we must pray to the Lord God Almighty who gave us this vision.  Pray for protection. Pray for the Praise Team and Praise Band members. Pray for David Rogers who will be leading the 8:30 A.M. Contemporary Worship Service.

Invite! The second thing I want you to do is invite as many people as you know who would come to a contemporary service. Invite your friends, family, neighbors, people you go to school with and people you work with.  If you invite someone to the contemporary service and they say they like a more traditional service or blended service, invite them to our 11:00 A.M. Worship Service.  I believe that if we will pray to the Lord of the Harvest and invite people to Immanuel, God will bless!

I would like to extend a big THANK YOU to all of you who sent me cards and wished me a Happy Birthday last week.  You are such a blessing.
                                                    In Christ Jesus Forever,
                                                    Pastor Willie

Christian sympathy is extended to Mrs. Virginia Cox upon the death of her sister, Mrs. Ruth Lee.

A Sincere Thank You to All of You,
Often life gets in the way of saying and doing things that are most important.  The reality of that most often is the people you love and hold most dear end up being the ones you think to remember last.  My Dad and I love and cherish the members and loyal friends of Immanuel beyond what any words could possibly say.  The visits, calls, love, and prayers that you have blessed us with in our times of trouble would be more than anyone could hope for but it doesn’t end there.  It’s not just in times of trouble that you have shown your love for us but at all times.  That is truly Christian love.  We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Our hearts and prayers are always with you,
               Love, Dallas and Danny Timmons

Pastor Willie and Members of Immanuel,
Don and I would like to express our thanks and appreciation for your prayers and concern during my recent surgery and recovery.  I’m feeling stronger each day and hope to be able to be back at church real soon.  Your thoughtfulness and prayers mean so much.
               Thanks again, Uldine Cox

To the Members of Immanuel who prayed for me and my family the Wednesday after Aurice passed away on October 19:
I want to thank you for the card, with all of the names signed, you sent in sympathy.  I appreciate your thoughtfulness and kindness showing you cared.  I won’t list all of the names, but you know who did this.  I needed your prayers then and I still need them during this hard time.  Aurice was a good Christian man and tried to help others.  May the new year bring you many blessings.
Sincerely, Anne B. Powell (Immanuel’s next door neighbor)

Dear Immanuel Church Family,
Your many cards, calls and expressions of concern for me, and more importantly, your prayers, have been such a source of  encouragement and hope to me as I face the daily challenges of being diagnosed with cancer.  My treatments are going well.  God has been good to me by placing loving and caring family and Christian friends around me, and for this I express my sincere gratitude to God and to each of you.  Please continue to keep me in your prayers as I still have a long road to travel.
             With heartfelt gratitude, Pat Rogers
