THE  BIBLE:
GOD’S  HOLY  WORD

God’s Word is the traveler’s map, the pilot’s compass, the pilgrim’s staff, the soldier’s sword, and the believer’s log.
The Bible contains light to direct you; comfort to console you; food to sustain you; wisdom to teach you; fire to warm you.
THIS BOOK REVEALS
THE MIND OF GOD,
THE STATE OF MAN,
THE WAY OF SALVATION.
Read it thoughtfully; read it frequently; read it prayerfully.  Read it to be wise; believe it to be safe; practice it to be holy; memorize it to grow.

A WORD FROM WILLIE

“One of the Greatest Women I Have Ever Known”

I write this article to you today with a heavy heart.  It is not because someone has died.  It is not because someone has cancer.  It is because one of my closest and dearest friends and one of the greatest women I have ever known is leaving us.  Yes, by now you know of whom I am speaking.  I am speaking of Jeanette Ham.  And, when I say that she is one of the greatest women I have ever known, I mean it.  I say that not just because she has taken me under her wing and helped me to be the best pastor I can be for Immanuel.  It is not just because of our friendship that has developed over the years.  It is not just because she has mothered me, protected me, and nurtured me; even those are very important, precious and meaningful memories.  It is because she is one of the most godly women I have ever met.  She is the purist example of a Proverbs 31 woman.  Her value is by far much more than gold and silver and much greater than we could ever have hoped to pay her.
When I think of Proverbs 31:29, I think of Jeanette.  It says, “Many women have done noble work, but you have surpassed them all!”  I have had many secretaries in the twenty years of ministry.  I have worked with some poor ones, and I have worked with some great ones, but Jeanette surpasses them all.  She has been much more than a secretary, she has been the greatest ministerial assistant that I have ever had the privilege of working with.  Thank you, Jeanette, for all you have done for me, taught me, and what you mean to me!  I praise the Lord for bringing me to Immanuel.  I wish that when I was growing up, I would have had a godly mother like you.
I know that throughout the years Jeanette has been there for you.  Come this Sunday and show your appreciation to Jeanette for 29 years of faithful service to the Lord and this church.  Bring lots of love and appreciation and a covered dish to the luncheon in her honor that will follow the 11:00 morning worship hour as we enjoy this time with one of the greatest women I have ever known.

                                                                        In Service to Him,
                                                                        Pastor Willie

JEANETTE  HAM
SUBMITS  RESIGNATION  LETTER

Dear Willie, Deacons, and Members of Immanuel Baptist Church,

I have always prayed that God would direct me in my ministry at Immanuel Church, and when the time came that I should leave, He would give me peace in knowing I had fulfilled my task.  On Thursday, July 14, 2005, I came to the realization that now was the time for me to step away from my position here at Immanuel and look forward to new directions God has waiting for me as I enter my retirement years.

With this having been said, I am submitting my resignation as Ministry Assistant/Administration of Immanuel Baptist Church effective Friday, August 12, 2005.  I will truly cherish the 29 years and 3+ months spent with you.  Immanuel has always been “my other church family”, and I will continue to love each of you and treasure your friendship.   I thank you for being a special part of my life.

Even though my days on staff will end, my prayers will continue to be with you individually and as a church body.

                                                      With my love,
                                                       Jeanette M. Ham
