God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle’s flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it…DAD.

A WORD FROM WILLIE

 “Summer Time Reminders”

Glorious greetings in the Great Name of Jesus!!! Summer is here and we need to use the long summer days to share Jesus in new and exciting ways.  Time is flying by so fast and there is still so much to do for our Lord!  Hopefully, with the daylight hours growing longer, we can get out and minister to more people with the love of Christ.

Summer is a fun time for you to spend time with your family. Yes, summer does open up opportunities to be adventurous and vacation bound, but summer also means summer time ministry like Vacation Bible School (June 13-17), Anniversary Sunday (July 10), Bible fellowships by the pool, Youth retreats and mission trips. This is a great time for ministry!

I want to let you know as your pastor that I want you to spend time with your spouse, your children, and grandchildren.  I also encourage you, as you are planning out your summer, to remember your church because we are continuing to move full force with the gospel of Christ and the ministry He has given all of us to do.

Let me give you some Summer Time Reminders!

Six things you should not forget as you plan your summer excursions:

               1. When you go on vacation, don't forget to pack your Bible and some other Christian reading material. Remember to keep your spiritual life alive as you seek relaxation and recreation.
               2. When you are on vacation, don't forget to worship God. Wherever you go, be sure to attend Sunday worship.
               3. When you are on vacation, don't forget that the ministry of Immanuel Baptist Church doesn't take a holiday. Please be sure that you are up to date on your tithes before you head out of town. Don't use your tithes to fund your vacation - God will bless a faithful and cheerful giver!
               4. When you go on vacation, don't forget to get someone to fill your church position(s) while you are gone.
               5. Please do not forget to pray for Immanuel some time during each day. As the ministry goes on here, we still need your prayers.
               6. When you come back from vacation, don't forget your way back to church. Others may need you to fill in for them at church as they go on vacation.

I hope and pray that you have a blessed summer and keep Jesus at the forefront of all you do. I pray God’s blessings upon you.

                                                             In Christ Jesus Forever,
                                                             Pastor Willie

We would like to thank everyone for supporting our fundraiser this past Saturday night when we served tables at the SchoolHouse BBQ Restaurant in Scranton.  There were ten youth and six adults who worked diligently and made a grand total of $1,387.70 in donations that will be used for summer youth activities.
Our thanks to Jan Dillenbeck, Vicki Thornton, Kevin Danner, Jim Allen, Delaine Martin, and Susan Thornton for their hard work.  Mrs. Susan, we thank you for coordinating our fundraiser - we could not have done it without you!
