A WORD FROM WILLIE

“Spring Has Sprung!”

Greetings in the awesome Name of Jesus! It is so good to see spring finally get here. The problem is that it is almost time for summer.  As a matter of fact, the kids already think summer has arrived with school now being out for the summer.  It is time for the kids to jump in the pool and play in the yard and have fun in the sun.  It is time for summer vacation to begin, and families are making plans and looking on with anticipation for a great get away.

A professor in college, Gerhard E. Frost, used to tell this story: Imagine you are walking through your neighborhood one bright summer morning, and you pass a certain house. The family is going on vacation. The father is closing the garage door; the mother is closing the front door and heading toward the car. The station wagon is standing in the driveway, fully loaded. In it are three children, all under the age of five. You walk up to the children and say: "Where are you going?" They don't know. "What highway are you taking?" Wide-eyed, they again reply that they have no idea. You ask again: "Where are you going to eat supper tonight?" Again, no idea. "Where are you going to stay?" They don't know. Then you ask: "With whom are you going?" Their eyes brighten. "Daddy and Mommy, of course!"  They didn't know where they were going or many other details of the trip. But, they knew with whom they were going. God doesn't always give us the answers. He gives us The Answer - Himself!

Psalm 37:3-5 tells us:  “Trust in the Lord and do good.; Dwell in the land and feed on His faithfulness.   Delight yourselves also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the Lord,  Trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.”

There are a lot of unanswered questions about this summer.  Will we get a new minister of children and youth? Will we be able to do all that we have planned for our young people?  I do not know the answers to those questions, but I do know that God has the answers and that He is the One behind the wheel of this church.  All I ask is that you help me make this the best summer possible for our kids!  Please pray for our children and youth summer activities. Pray for VBS. Pray for the Youth Council.  We need your prayers and your help to make this summer special for our children and youth.  “Trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass.”

If you can help this summer, please call Susan Thornton or me.  Remember, He doesn’t always give us the answers. He gives us The Answer – Himself!

                                                                       In Christ Jesus Forever,
                                                                       Pastor Willie

APPRECIATIONS

To All My Church Family,
I would like to thank everyone for all the phone calls, cards, prayers, and visits during my illness.  I would like to thank the members of my Sunday School Class (Delaine Martin).  I also would like to thank the Effie Flowers Group and the Effie Flowers Sunday School Class for the two love offerings.  It left me speechless, very grateful, and very proud to know that I have such a loving and caring Christian family.
In Christian Love, Michael Kirby and Family

My Dear Fellow Church Members,
I wish to thank each of you for your prayers, visits, calls, and flowers during my recent hospitalization.  With God’s help, I am now on the way to full recovery.  Our God is truly an awesome God.
                                                                Sincerely, Paul Tuttle

Dear Pastor Willie and Church Friends and Family,
Thank you for all the calls and cards, and especially the prayers that have been said on my behalf.  I will be going back to the Mayo Clinic for a follow-up soon.  Please keep me in your prayers.
                                                              In His Love, Judy Thompson
