“Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!”

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! In the Wonderful and Powerful Name of the Only Begotten Son of God…Thank You!!!  I feel like the Psalmist who wrote in Psalm 30:4 Sing praise to the Lord, you saints of His, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name! And Psalm 92:1 It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High!  And Psalm 97:12 Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name! And Psalm 107:15 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men. The Lord is so good to you and me and we need to tell every one how wonderful He is.  We need to proclaim from the rooftops that our God is an awesome God who reigns from heaven above! We need to show the world that we as sons and daughters of the One True God are thankful to God for all the things He has done and is doing and will do forevermore!

Just think about this.  You could have been born in Africa where your father, mother, sisters and brothers are dead from the Aids virus and now you are on your own with no home to go to, no family to reach out to, no food to eat and no clothes to where.  You could have been born any place else in the world, but God chose to allow you to be born in this great land of the home of the free, the plenty, and the blessed.

I know that I am blessed because I have a wonderful Savior and Lord.  I have the most wonderful wife in the world. I have the two best kids on the planet. And I have the best Church family this side of heaven.  Yes, you have been such a blessing to me and my family. I want to say thank you to all of you who prayed for Jan before, during and after her surgery.  Thanks for all of the cards and calls.  Thanks for all the food you brought to our home.  The only problem is that it has happened to me again.  With all of those dinners, cakes, pies and goodies, I gained about five pounds.  Now I have to hit the gym again to lose the weight.  But that is a good problem to have, because I know that we are loved at Immanuel.

Again, thank you for expressing so much love to me and my family.  I hope that if you do not have a heart full of thankfulness to the Lord for all that He has done for you, you will stop and just take account of His many blessings and you will see that you have much to be thankful for.

In the wonderful name of Jesus!

                                                   Pastor Willie

That All Peoples May Know Him
In December of each year throughout Southern Baptist churches a special emphasis is placed on supporting international missions.  Immanuel has always been faithful in giving to this special offering.  This year the Lottie Moon Offering Goal has been set at $3,000.  An offering envelope is included in this ImmanueLight.
You can help Immanuel Church reach its Lottie Moon Offering goal by using the Lottie Moon Post Office to send your Christmas greetings to fellow church members.  All you do is place your cards alphabetically in the mail slots in the Lottie Moon Post Office in the foyer of the Aiken Building, and then place your money in a Lottie Moon Offering Envelope and put it in the offering plate or bring it by the church office.  All monies collected will benefit the Lottie Moon Offering.  Please leave cards only for active church members, and remember to check by the Lottie Moon Post Office often to pick up the cards that have been left for you.

Dear Church Family,
Thank you so much for the love and concern shown me during my recent hospitalization and my time at home recuperating.  I appreciate each card, visit, phone call, and especially all the prayers that were said on my behalf.  May God bless each of you.

Dear Willie and the Folk at Immanuel,
A special thank you to all of you for your kindness and warm spirit as we shared in ministry.  I continue to lift all of you up in prayer.  Continue to look to Christ in all things and may He continue to lead and guide you all.
