“A Pastor’s Appreciation”

Greetings in the Name that is above every name!  It is so good to write to all of you again!  I am writing to you with a heart filled with love and appreciation.

First of all, I want to tell you of my appreciation for the cards, calls, gifts, and words of encouragement that you showered on Jan and me during Pastor Appreciation Month.  Jan and I know that the Lord has sent us to the most wonderful church in the whole United States of America and we also believe the world.  You do not know how much your encouraging words and messages have lifted our hearts when we really needed a lift. We know that it was the Lord who spoke through you to minister to us.

Secondly, I appreciate you for your hard work for the Lord.  From greeters to Sunday School teachers. From working with babies to ministering to homebound seniors. From working behind the scenes to singing in the choir every Sunday. All of you who give your very best to the Lord week after week, I want to say thank you! 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 says 12 Now, brothers and sisters, we ask you to appreciate those who work hard among you, who lead you in the Lord and teach you. 13 Respect them with a very special love because of the work they do. (NCV) As we approach Thanksgiving, I think all of us need to express our appreciation to our Sunday School teachers, deacons, greeters, directors, Children, Youth and Senior workers, ushers, Choir members, Committee members, and everyone who makes the mission of Immanuel become a reality.

Third, I want to extend my appreciation to Emily Gamble, the Youth Sunday School department, and the Young Couples Sunday School class led by Bill and Delaine Martin for stepping up and making the Fall Festival a wonderful success!!!  You worked so hard and the Lord blessed your efforts.  We had people all over the place.  We had a great crowd down on the basketball court where all the games were being played, and when I walked up to the Fellowship Hall, it was packed!

Last, but definitely first, I want to thank our wonderful, magnificent, incredibly awesome God and King for providing for us one of the most beautiful nights you could possibly imagine and a reason for ministry!!!!

                                                 In Christ Jesus Forever,
                                                 Pastor Willie

Dear Immanuel Baptist Church Members,
Thank you so much for your comforting note letting me know that my family and I had been lifted up to the Lord in prayer during your Wednesday Night Prayer Service and for the many cards, visits, and other expressions of Christian love that I have received from so many of you during the illness and passing of my dear husband, J. C.
Thank you especially for the spiritual and emotional support you’ve given to my sister, Jeanette Ham, who is just a rock to our family and me in times of trouble.
Please continue to pray for me as I cope with the sadness and loneliness due to the reality of J.C.’s physical absence from me.
                                                    With gratitude. Pat Rogers

Our thanks to the Baptist Middle Women for providing us with a meal on October 19.  We really appreciate your help with our ministry here at the Francis Marion BCM (Baptist Collegiate Ministries).  May God continue to bless your church.

Immanuel members have been asked by the South Carolina Baptist Convention to support Christmas Packets for Prisoners again this year.  This will be the only gift many prisoners receive this Christmas.  Because you care, many have accepted Christ as Savior and others have become involved in ministry.  This year I am asking you to make a monetary contribution.  I will then purchase the items designated by the SC Baptist Convention so that the ladies can make the packets at the December WMU meeting.  Contributions may be made through November 28.  Our Goal is 60 Prisoner Packets.
Thank you for your help.   Joyce Hall, WMU Coordinator
