“This is My body given for you;
Do this in remembrance of Me.”
Luke 22:19
The annual Fall Family Festival is scheduled for
Sunday, October 31, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., in
Moody Fellowship Hall.
See details inside this ImmanueLight.

             As I sat at my computer and reflected on what in the world to write about in this issue of The ImmanueLight, the faces of the people of this church began to flood my mind.  I see Mrs. Ginny Harbin in the Welcome Center preparing the coffee and cookies, greeting with a smile and a hug each and every person who enters the room.  I see Mr. Bill Stubbs standing in the foyer greeting people as they make their way into the sanctuary.  And once I enter into the worship center, Mr. Wallace Arrington, who always has a hug and a smile waiting for me, once again greets me.  And I do not take too many more steps before many other members welcome me.  This image often brings a smile to my face as I reflect on what a warm and loving church family I am so blessed to serve.  I have never been greeted with such excitement and love as so many members greet me with every Sunday.

              I enjoy so much the jokes with Mr. Tilly Thompson, the laughs with Mrs. Delaine Martin, and the words of encouragement from Blaney and Polly Howle.  I have named just a few of you, but every face is an important face and every hug is a special hug.  So, I wanted to take this time to thank you for all the encouragement, love, and joy that each member has expressed to me in my time here.  I have truly cherished the fellowships and covered dish meals that we enjoy here at Immanuel.

               I also want to thank those who came out and supported the youth in their Pancake Supper Fundraiser last Tuesday evening.  Thank you, Bill and Cheryl Stubbs, for taking care of the cooking.  Also, thanks to all the parents of the youth and the youth for all your service and hard work.  I had such a great time being able to spend an evening with everyone.

                And as I look ahead to the upcoming fellowship times, I begin to feel the excitement as I think about all the fun we will soon be experiencing.  On Sunday, October 31, Immanuel will be hosting the annual Fall Festival and already many of you are looking forward to this event. I hope that you will join us for this time of fun.  There will be games, prizes, hayrides, moonwalk, hotdogs, and much, much more.

                On November 14, an Old-Fashioned Sunday with a covered dish luncheon following the morning service is planned.  I hope everyone will make every effort to come and enjoy this time of fellowship with each other.  Immanuel is truly a church where each member has a warm and loving heart!

                                                      Love in Christ,
                                                      Emily Gamble
