A WORD FROM WILLIE
“Praise God for 95 Years of Immanuel!”

Greetings in the wonderful and precious name of Jesus!!!  It is so good to write to you again. I am so excited about what the Lord is doing at Immanuel and what He will do in the future of this great church! And, of course, as all of you know, I am so excited to be called of God to be the pastor of this great church.

As many of you know, July 11 is the Sunday that we will be celebrating 95 years as a church where Jesus Christ is Lord.  I am excited about this day because it represents to this community the stability and faithfulness of our God and King.  Listen to what Deuteronomy 7:7-9 tells us about God’s wonderful faithfulness. “The Lord did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; but because the Lord loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage…Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments”  Yes, because of God’s faithfulness we not only can celebrate 95 wonderful years, but we can also know that God has a wonderful plan for this body of believers.  I can shout along with the Psalmist “I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever; With my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations.” (Psalm 89:1)  God has poured His mercies on us even in this generation.

Don’t forget to make every effort on “Anniversary Sunday” to attend Sunday School at 9:30. The worship hour will be at 10:45, with a covered dish luncheon to follow. Bring enough of that delicious home cooking for your family X 2.  Last but not least, invite friends, family, and past Immanuelites for this wonderful event.  Just a reminder, this year’s anniversary offering is going toward paying off the debt on the New Welcome Center.  I can’t wait to see all of you on “Anniversary Sunday”!!!

Another milestone that is taking place is that my family and I are celebrating our second year anniversary here at Immanuel.  I know that it is nothing compared to the 95 years of service that Immanuel has contributed, but for me and my family it has been a wonderful two years.  I want to personally extend my appreciation to everyone who has shown their love to me and my family through, cards, gifts, calls, prayers, encouraging words, and service to our Savior.  This has been two wonderful years for me and my family.  Thanks again for being the most loving and caring church in all of South Carolina!
                                              In Christ Jesus Forever,
                                              Pastor Willie

FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION
On July 4, 1776, the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence.  Four days later, on July 8, 1776, colonists gathered in Philadelphia to hear the Declaration read. Afterward, they celebrated the nation’s first “Independence Day”.  In following years, Independence Day celebrations were held throughout the country on July 4.  Not until 1941, however, was the Fourth of July set aside as a national holiday. As we celebrate, let us thank God for our freedom in this great land we love - AMERICA!.

APPRECIATIONS
Rev. Willie and all of the Immanuel Family,
We the family of Mary Lee Childers wish to thank you for all of your prayers, cards, flowers, visits, words of support, the delicious meal following the funeral, and your love which you have shared with us at this time and for all of my life.  Mother loved her church and was faithful to her church throughout her life.  She cherished all of her great friends there and spoke of you often.  She greatly appreciated your love and support while she was a resident of The Carolinian residential home and later as a resident of our home and then in the nursing home.  She is now with her precious Lord, but I know she would want me to say “Thank You” for everything!  God bless you all!
Leo and Tam Childers and Family

Pastor Willie and Immanuel Family,
Thanks for the cards, food, visits, and prayers during my surgery and recovery.  God bless you all.
Love, Harrel and Betty Jo Jordan
